Privacy Policy
Aftermark runs on your computer. We operate no server that it connects to, and we never receive your journal.
The short version
- There is no account to create.
- Your trades, notes and exports are files on your own disk. We never receive them.
- There is no telemetry, no usage tracking, no crash reporting and no automatic update check.
- The dashboard loads no third-party scripts, fonts, analytics or tracking pixels. Every asset it uses is local.
- With no API keys configured, Aftermark opens no outbound network connection at all.
This website
This site is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and loads nothing from a third party. If you email us, we have your email address because you sent it to us.
What leaves your machine, and only if you ask it to
Every outbound connection Aftermark can make requires you to supply a credential or run a script yourself. Here is the complete list.

All four go directly from your computer to that company, under your own account with them, governed by their terms. None of it passes through us, because there is no "us" in the path — we run no server for Aftermark.
One thing worth being precise about: the earnings helper sends the ticker symbols you hold. Symbols you hold are information about your positions. It is optional and manual, but we would rather name it than let you discover it.
Licence verification
When licence verification is enabled in a paid release, the only thing transmitted is your licence key, to our licensing provider, at most once a day. No trade data, no positions, no broker credentials, no usage statistics and no machine fingerprint are sent with it.
If you buy from us
Buying involves three companies other than us, and it is only fair to name them:
- Paddle is our payment processor and merchant of record. They handle the transaction and hold your name, email, billing address and payment details under their own privacy policy. We do not receive or store your card details at any point.
- Keygen stores the licence issued to you, identified by your email address and the subscription or order it belongs to.
- Our email provider delivers your licence key to you.
We keep a record of licences issued and whether they were delivered, so we can help you if a key goes missing. That record contains your email address and your licence key. It does not contain anything about your trading.
Your choices
Because there is no account and no server, there is very little for us to delete — your journal is already entirely in your hands, and deleting the folder deletes it. For the purchase record described above, email us and we will tell you what we hold and remove what we are not required to keep.
Children
Aftermark is not directed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will appear on this page. The version that shipped with your copy of the software describes that copy.
